  1. (a)Acceptable daily intake (ADI). The ADI for total tetracycline residues (chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline) is 25 µg/kg of body weight per day.
  2. (b)Tolerances. The tolerances for the sum of tetracycline residues are:
    1. (1)Cattle.
      1. (i)Muscle: 2 ppm.
      2. (ii)Liver: 6 ppm.
      3. (iii)Fat and kidney: 12 ppm.
      4. (iv)Milk: 0.3 ppm.
    2. (2)Chickens and turkeys.
      1. (i)Muscle: 2 ppm.
      2. (ii)Liver: 6 ppm.
      3. (iii)Fat and kidney: 12 ppm.
    3. (3)Finfish. Muscle (with adhering skin when edible): 2 ppm.
    4. (4)Lobster. Muscle: 2 ppm.
    5. (5)Swine and sheep.
      1. (i)Muscle: 2 ppm.
      2. (ii)Liver: 6 ppm.
      3. (iii)Fat and kidney: 12 ppm.
    6. (6)Honey. 750 ppb.
