A lease or grant suspension will be in effect for the period specified by BOEM.
  1. (a)BOEM will not approve a lease or grant suspension request pursuant to § 585.416 for a period longer than 2 years.
  2. (b)If BOEM determines that the circumstances giving rise to a suspension ordered under § 585.417 cannot be resolved within 5 years, the Secretary may initiate cancellation of the lease or grant.
