The following organizations are authorized to act on behalf of the United States for the review and approval of CSMs:
  1. (a)Any recognized classification society to which the Coast Guard has delegated issuance of a Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate in accordance with 46 CFR 8.320(b)(4). A list of these organizations can be found at www.uscg.mil/hq/cg5/cg522/cg5222 in the “Summary of Authorizations” link.
