  1. (a)Information concerning the nature and specific location of a paleontological resource is exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act and any other law unless the Federal land manager determines that the disclosure would:
    1. (1)Further the purposes of the Act;
    2. (2)Not create risk of harm to or theft or destruction of the resource or site containing the resource; and
    3. (3)Be in accordance with other applicable laws.
  2. (b)The Federal land manager may define bureau-specific confidentiality requirements that are consistent with paragraphs (a)(1) through (3) of this section.
  3. (c)Information that is shared with a contractor, permittee, repository, or other partner in furtherance of the Act is not considered an official public disclosure for purposes of the Freedom of Information Act.
