  1. (a)For purposes consistent with the Act, only the following species may be considered for a permit allowing their introduction into Antarctica:
    1. (1)Cultivated plants and their reproductive propagules for controlled use; and
    2. (2)Species of living organisms including viruses, bacteria, yeasts, and fungi, for controlled experimental use.
  2. (b)Living non-indigenous species of birds shall not be introduced into Antarctica.
