The mission of the Federal Grain Inspection Service is to facilitate the marketing of grain, oilseeds, pulses, rice, and related commodities by:
  1. (a)Establishing descriptive standards and terms,
  2. (b)Accurately and consistently certifying quality,
  3. (c)Providing for uniform official inspection and weighing,
  4. (d)Carrying out assigned regulatory and service responsibilities, and
  5. (e)Providing the framework for commodity quality improvement incentives to both domestic and foreign buyers.
