16 U.S.C. § 7101

1. (1)to stabilize and transition payments to counties to provide funding for schools and roads that supplements other available funds;
2. (2)to make additional investments in, and create additional employment opportunities through, projects that—
   1. (A)
      1. (i)improve the maintenance of existing infrastructure;
      2. (ii)implement stewardship objectives that enhance forest ecosystems; and
      3. (iii)restore and improve land health and water quality;
   2. (B)enjoy broad-based support; and
   3. (C)have objectives that may include—
      1. (i)road, trail, and infrastructure maintenance or obliteration;
      2. (ii)soil productivity improvement;
      3. (iii)improvements in forest ecosystem health;
      4. (iv)watershed restoration and maintenance;
      5. (v)the restoration, maintenance, and improvement of wildlife and fish habitat;
      6. (vi)the control of noxious and exotic weeds; and
      7. (vii)the reestablishment of native species; and
3. (3)to improve cooperative relationships among—
   1. (A)the people that use and care for Federal land; and
   2. (B)the agencies that manage the Federal land.
