Except as provided in 40 CFR 403.7 and 403.13, any existing source subject to this subpart which introduces pollutants into a publicly owned treatment works must comply with 40 CFR part 403 and achieve the following pretreatment standards for existing sources.
  1. (a)Sulfuric acid (spent acid solutions and rinse waters)—(1) Rod, wire, and coil.
    1. (2)Bar, billet, and bloom.
    2. (3)Strip, sheet, and plate.
    3. (4)Pipe, tube, and other products.
    4. (5)Fume scrubber.
  2. (b)Hydrochloric acid pickling (spent acid solutions and rinse waters)—(1) Rod, wire, and coil.
    1. (2)Strip, sheet, and plate.
    2. (3)Pipe, tube, and other products.
    3. (4)Fume scrubber.
    4. (5)Acid regeneration (absorber vent scrubber).
  3. (c)Combination acid pickling (spent acid solutions and rinse waters)—(1) Rod, wire, and coil.
    1. (2)Bar, billet, and bloom.
    2. (3)Strip, sheet, and plate—continuous.
    3. (4)Strip, sheet, and plate—batch.
    4. (5)Pipe, tube, and other products.
    5. (6)Fume scrubber.
