You must renew a lapsed operator qualification before you begin operation of an SSI unit by one of the two methods specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section:
  1. (a)For a lapse of less than 3 years, you must complete a standard annual refresher course described in § 62.15935; and
  2. (b)For a lapse of 3 years or more, you must repeat the initial qualification requirements in § 62.15920.
