  1. (a)Basis. This subpart is based on section 1860D-22 of the Act, as amended by section 101 of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA).
  2. (b)Scope. This section implements the statutory requirement that a subsidy payment be made to sponsors of qualified retiree prescription drug plans.
