The Operator of a vessel having on board a cargo carried as an exception under § 150.150 but not listed in Appendix I, Exceptions to the Chart, shall make sure that:
  1. (a)The Commandant (CG-ENG-5) has authorized by letter or message the cargo pair as an exception to the compatibility chart; and
  2. (b)A copy of the letter or message is on the vessel.
