  1. (a)An application for approval of a PFD light under this subpart must be submitted to the Commandant (CG-ENG) according to § 159.001-5 of this subchapter.
  2. (b)Each application for approval must contain—(1) The name and address of the applicant;
    1. (2)Plans showing the construction details of the light;
    2. (3)A detailed description of the applicant's production testing program; and
    3. (4)A laboratory test report containing the observations and results of approval testing.
  3. (c)The Commandant advises the applicant whether the light is approved. If the light is approved, an approval certificate is sent to the applicant.
