48 CFR §9903.201-3

1. (a)Cost Accounting Standards Notices and Certification.
   1. (1)The contracting officer shall insert the provision set forth below, Cost Accounting Standards Notices and Certification, in solicitations for proposed contracts subject to CAS as specified in 9903.201. The provision allows offerors to—
      1. (i)Certify their Disclosure Statement status;
      2. (ii)[Reserved]
      3. (iii)Claim exemption from full CAS coverage and elect modified CAS coverage when appropriate; and
      4. (iv)Certify whether award of the contemplated contract would require a change to existing cost accounting practices.
   2. (2)If an award to an educational institution is contemplated prior to July 1, 1997, the contracting officer shall use the basic provision set forth below with its Alternate I, unless the contract is to be performed by an FFRDC (see 9903.201(c)(5)), or the provision at 9903.201(c)(6) applies.
