7 CFR §51.2335

1. (a)“U.S. Fancy” consists of kiwifruit which meet the following requirements:
   1. (1)Basic Requirements:
      1. (i)Similar varietal characteristics;
      2. (ii)Mature;
      3. (iii)Not soft, overripe, or shriveled;
      4. (iv)Carefully packed;
      5. (v)Clean; and,
      6. (vi)Well formed.
   2. (2)Free From:
      1. (i)Worm holes;
      2. (ii)Broken skins which are not healed;
      3. (iii)Sunscald;
      4. (iv)Freezing injury;
      5. (v)Internal breakdown; and,
      6. (vi)Decay.
   3. (3)Free From Injury By:
      1. (i)Bruises;
      2. (ii)Leaf or limbrubs;
      3. (iii)Discoloration;
      4. (iv)Hail;
      5. (v)Growth cracks;
      6. (vi)Scab;
      7. (vii)Scars;
      8. (viii)Heat, sprayburn, or sunburn;
      9. (ix)Scale;
      10. (x)Insects;
      11. (xi)Other diseases; and,
      12. (xii)Mechanical or other means.
   4. (4)Tolerances. (See § 51.2336)
2. (b)“U.S. No. 1” consists of kiwifruit which meet the following requirements:
   1. (1)Basic Requirements:
      1. (i)Similar varietal characteristics;
      2. (ii)Mature;
      3. (iii)Not soft, overripe, or shriveled;
      4. (iv)Carefully packed;
      5. (v)Clean; and,
      6. (vi)Fairly well formed.
   2. (2)Free From:
      1. (i)Worm holes;
      2. (ii)Broken skins which are not healed;
      3. (iii)Sunscald;
      4. (iv)Freezing injury;
      5. (v)Internal breakdown; and,
      6. (vi)Decay.
   3. (3)Free From Damage By:
      1. (i)Bruises;
      2. (ii)Leaf or limbrubs;
      3. (iii)Discoloration;
      4. (iv)Hail;
      5. (v)Growth cracks;
      6. (vi)Scab;
      7. (vii)Scars;
      8. (viii)Heat, sprayburn, or sunburn;
      9. (ix)Scale;
      10. (x)Insects;
      11. (xi)Other diseases; and,
      12. (xii)Mechanical or other means.
   4. (4)Tolerances. (See § 51.2336):
3. (c)“U.S. No. 2” consists of kiwifruit which meet the following requirements:
   1. (1)Basic Requirements:
      1. (i)Similar varietal characteristics;
      2. (ii)Mature;
      3. (iii)Not soft, overripe, or shriveled;
      4. (iv)Carefully packed;
      5. (v)Fairly clean; and,
      6. (vi)Not badly misshapen.
   2. (2)Free From:
      1. (i)Worm holes;
      2. (ii)Broken skins which are not healed;
      3. (iii)Sunscald;
      4. (iv)Freezing injury;
      5. (v)Internal breakdown; and,
      6. (vi)Decay.
   3. (3)Free From Serious Damage By:
      1. (i)Bruises;
      2. (ii)Leaf or limbrubs;
      3. (iii)Discoloration;
      4. (iv)Hail;
      5. (v)Growth cracks;
      6. (vi)Scab;
      7. (vii)Scars;
      8. (viii)Heat, sprayburn, or sunburn;
      9. (ix)Scale;
      10. (x)Insects;
      11. (xi)Other diseases; and,
      12. (xii)Mechanical or other means.
