In this chapter:
  1. (1)The term “Department” means the Department of Energy.
  2. (2)The term “Director” means the Director of the Office of Science of the Department, except as otherwise indicated.
  3. (3)The term “National Laboratory” has the meaning given that term in section 15801 of this title.
  4. (4)The term “Secretary” means the Secretary of Energy.
