42 U.S.C. § 3231 — General authorization of appropriations

  1. (a)Grants for public works and economic developmentThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3141 of this title, to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)$170,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;
    2. (2)$195,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;
    3. (3)$220,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;
    4. (4)$245,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and
    5. (5)$270,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.
  2. (b)Grants for planning and grants for administrative expensesThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3143 of this title, to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)$90,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;
    2. (2)$100,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;
    3. (3)$110,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;
    4. (4)$120,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and
    5. (5)$130,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.
  3. (c)Grants for training, research, and technical assistanceThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3147 of this title, to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)$25,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;
    2. (2)$30,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;
    3. (3)$35,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;
    4. (4)$40,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and
    5. (5)$45,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.
  4. (d)Grants for economic adjustmentThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149 of this title (other than subsections (d) and (e)), to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)$65,000,000 for fiscal year 2025;
    2. (2)$75,000,000 for fiscal year 2026;
    3. (3)$85,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;
    4. (4)$95,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; and
    5. (5)$105,000,000 for fiscal year 2029.
  5. (e)Assistance to coal communitiesThere is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149(d) of this title $75,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.
  6. (f)Assistance to nuclear host communitiesThere are authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3149(e) of this title, to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)to carry out paragraph (2)(A), $35,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029; and
    2. (2)to carry out paragraph (2)(B), $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2027.
  7. (g)Renewable energy programThere is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154d of this title $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.
  8. (h)Workforce training grantsThere is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154e of this title $50,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended, of which $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 shall be used to carry out subsection (c) of that section.
  9. (i)Critical Supply Chain Site Development grant programThere is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3154h of this title $20,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.
  10. (j)Technical Assistance LiaisonsThere is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section 3200 of this title $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029, to remain available until expended.
  11. (k)Salaries and expensesThere are authorized to be appropriated for salaries and expenses of administering this chapter, to remain available until expended—
    1. (1)$33,377,000 for fiscal year 2004; and
    2. (2)such sums as are necessary for each fiscal year thereafter.
